All rumors indicate that the NHL and Seattle are on the verge of a partnership sometime in 2018. But the question is, can hockey fill a sports void for the winter months? NHL ownership will begin a season ticket to drive to gauge the official interest in a Seattle team, this is the same way they tested Las Vegas as a potential expansion market. In recent years, the city of Seattle has thrived and become a city of transplants. A hockey team would be a perfect way for newer residents to rally around a new team. If the NHL does move forward with Seattle, the team could arrive as soon as 2020.
