Tesla and Entertainment: Is Netflix Coming to Your Car?

Fresh off the release of its second quarter earnings report, Tesla is making its next move. CEO and Founder Elon Musk said on Twitter that the company plans to add YouTube and Netflix streaming capabilities to its cars soon.

Ability to stream YouTube & Netflix when car is stopped coming to your Tesla soon! Has an amazingly immersive, cinematic feel due to the comfy seats & surround sound audio.

Musk was also careful to mention that video content would only be accessible when the car is at a stop.

The holdup, Musk said in a subsequent Tweet, has to do with regulators who are yet to approve full self-driving cars. He also made note of gaming and infotainment features.

The company sold a record number of Model 3s in the last quarter, but still did not match analyst expectations overall.
