Sports Safety: An Expanding Business

Every year, 3.5 million sports-related injuries are reported in children and teens. Sports and recreational activities contribute to approximately 21 percent of all traumatic brain injuries among American children. Riddell is a leader in sports safety equipment– 65% of all NFL helmets and 90% of helmets used by NCAA Division 1 FBS players are Riddell.

Last year, they debuted their InSite Impact Response System, an in-helmet sensor technology that monitors impacts and wirelessly transmits an alert to sideline staff. Schools and minor league sports are rapidly incorporating this tech into their equipment.

The company is working one-on-one with coaches, equipment managers, athletic trainers, and administrators to get the technology out to boost safety.
