Market research firm Nielsen surveyed close to 3,000 people in Seattle from September 2016 to August 2017. About 247,000 people (8.3%) used at least one of the app-based services.
Only 2.4% of Seattle-area adults say they’ve used a Taxi service in the last week, which could spell trouble for taxi services if they can’t adapt. But Seattle isn’t the only one. In a city ranking, Seattle is 13th out of 50 that are dependant on ridesharing.
