The traditional hotel room aesthetic is not necessarily one that shouts “home”, but hotel television leader LG wants to change that image. Literally.

LG has expanded upon its award-winning Pro:Centric smart TV platform, to increase access to external partners, such as Amazon’s Alexa and the Google Assistant.

The newly announced hotel smart ecosystem will create a connected in-room experience that was not previously possible. Guests will be able to control several aspects of their environment, including controlling lights, locks, or even the drapes.

This new platform will allow hoteliers to offer a significant expansion of in-room entertainment, as well. The Pro:Centric system will simplify users’ access to popular media providers, from broadcast to streaming and premium content.

The seamless experience will also allow easy access to personal devices, in order to allow the display of photos, music or even movies.
