Ridesharing has changed the way people move around cities, and at least one metro area is taking notice. Jersey City, New Jersey has announced a partnership with ridesharing app Via to use the platform to improve transit in the region.

For $2, users will be able to hail a six-person bus that will take them to a designated drop-off area near their final location. The service also fits into the city’s plan to lower the number of cars on the road, and better serve residents.

Business Casual hosts Daniel Litwin and Geoffrey Short discussed what this will mean to the city and what it signals to other urban areas.
