Airbnb’s CEO Brian Chesky asked a simple question on Twitter: “If Airbnb could launch anything in 2017, what would it be?” The top answer? Splitting payments between friends. The rental booker will have the option to split the payment among friends, and the group has 72 hours to make sure friends pay their part. Airbnb has already seen that 30% of split-payment trips brought new users to the site, giving an edge over their competitor.
