Payments company Square and its subsidiary Caviar have put together a new point-of-sale system to make life easier for restaurants. ‘Square for Restaurants’ is designed to help restaurants manage core offline areas such as table maps and menus. Now managers will be able to adjust these on the fly through Square’s software.

The service is designed to help small restaurants run more efficiently but Square is also targeting larger chains. The associated costs with switching point-of-sales systems will be difficult to break through though. Square for Restaurants will cost $60 per month with a $40 per month charge for each additional system installed.
