Microsoft has announced its HoloLens and Surface Hub will be used by Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in the U.K. The Surface Hub will allow doctors to collaborate and share images. The HoloLens, Microsoft’s augmented reality headset, will be used in operating rooms. This will allow for instant reviews of ultrasounds, CT scans and tests.

Surgeons can even see 3D heart scans in real-time during operations. Doctors are seeing a bright future for mixed reality devices within hospitals. The HoloLens has yet to become a consumer product due to the high price.
