Digital twins are a growing form of technology that combine the power of IoT, machine learning and AI to build a digital replica of a physical machine. With heightened ability to predict problems and find solutions for them, these twins are making people do a double take. A study published by NASA Langley Research Center said, “The Digital Twin, integrates ultra-high fidelity simulation with [a] vehicle’s on-board integrated vehicle health management system, maintenance history and all available historical and fleet data to mirror the life of its flying twin and enable unprecedented levels of safety and reliability.”

Currently, companies like Tesla are seeing the future of digital twins with their ability to monitor vehicles performance in real time and growing into predictive measures to prevent road accidents from happening. With the amount of potential that digital twins will bring to IOT, they are proving that two heads really are better than one.
