On this installment of I Don’t Care, Kevin Stevenson discusses COVID-19 and the court system with the Honorable Judge Jackie G. Miller, Jr., Justice of the Peace for Precinct Two in Ellis County, TX.  Judge Miller, who has been on the bench for over 23 years, offers his insights on how COVID-19 has affected his day-to-day work as judge, magistrate and county coroner.  He shares with Kevin how he approaches inquests regarding the deceased very differently as well as the tremendous backlog of cases that will take months to clear.  They also discuss statistical differences between the more rural counties in Texas versus major metropolitan counties like Dallas and Tarrant.  There’s even a discussion about personal freedoms here on “I Don’t Care”.
