Beer like any other beverage is a hard market to break into. But In local and regional areas, craft beers are experiencing a 5 to 6 percent growth amongst the overall beer market, according to CNBC. Jeremy Cowan, founder of Shmaltz Brewing, an upstate New York-based boutique brewer said “Certain big breweries are struggling to maintain volume and any kind of growth,”. However, he said, there’s still excitement and growth in the craft beer segment “but you have to go in and fight for your spot.” Just like any business, competition is stiff and that will always be the case. A small percentage of people care about the artistry of brewing beer and when you produce in masses that artistry is lost and if the company seems like they don’t care about their product then why should you? This is truly a great example of quality over quantity and if craft beer continues to grow like this, they will beat out the big named beers.
