During the COVID-19 pandemic, food delivery, particularly from restaurants, has taken on a bigger role than arguable ever before.

Restaurants are counting on delivery to bring in key revenue during this period of uncertainty, and Relay, a technology platform that helps facilitate that delivery, is committed to helping restaurants do just that.

Relay connects restaurants with pending delivery orders with couriers available to fulfill them, providing a unified management system for deliveries across all platforms and a “scalable courier force to ensure on-time delivery, no matter the circumstance.”

Relay CEO Alex Blum joined Voice of B2B Daniel Litwin on this episode of MarketScale Live to highlight how the company is making it all happen and discuss a big shakeup in the delivery world – Uber’s acquisition of delivery service Postmates.

“Specifically, for restaurants, I think this is going to be a tough move,” Blum said. “The lack of variety and having fewer options is probably not going to be the best thing for restaurant owners. There’s one fewer player now as an alternative for them.”

However, leveraging Relay’s services can help fight back against that challenge.

“Because we aggregate across multiple channels, we are typically able to batch orders,” Blum said. “We’re able to offer our service at a lower price point than if the restaurant wanted to hire their own delivery staff (or work with another delivery service).”
