Supply chains have been a hot topic of conversation since the COVID-19 pandemic began, as the ensuing chaos ground many of them across the world to a screeching halt.

Now, however, with a new normal coming to life and supply chains growing and scaling once again – often in response to pressures, challenges and shortcomings exposed by the very thing that halted progress – careers in logistics are ready for another boom.

To discuss careers in the supply chain, host Tyler Kern was joined by Mr. Supply Chain himself, Daniel Stanton.

Stanton is a “supply chain executive, entrepreneur and educator” and the author of “Supply Chain Management for Dummies.” The “Mr. Supply Chain” moniker was bestowed upon him by an observer of his voracious appetite and obsession with supply chains and logistics, and it’s stuck with him since.

In this conversation, Kern and Stanton outlined his journey to writing his “For Dummies” book, detailed how he goes about educating professionals about supply chains, and explored the careers now available in an industry currently squarely in the spotlight.

“It feels like it’s the Golden Age for the supply chain,” Stanton said. “It started with toilet paper – that’s the way it’s going to go down in the history books. … If there is one silver lining around all of those very, very dark clouds, it’s that everybody now understands that we live in a global economy.”
