Listen: The Winter Olympics Have Robot Cleaners For Maintenance

At this years 2018 Winter Olympics, robots will be lending a hand for many tasks from serving drinks to cleaning up trash. Robots are being common in South Korea with country selling around 41,000 robots in 2016. Over time, cleaning robots have grown in popularity making their way into many building management operations.

Robert Crawford, general manager at Sodexo and building service contractor for Kapi’olani said, “Anyone who’s been to Kapi’olani [Medical Center] knows about the bots. You have kids and visitors leaning out the doors like they are waiting for the ice cream truck.” With 85 robots deployed at this years games in Pyeongchang, robots are a growing part of building manage to keep up with growing demands.
