Watch: Mark Zuckerberg gives $30 million to aimed to raise literacy

Mark Zuckerberg has gotten behind personalized learning technology that adapts to a child’s interests and capabilities. The charity founded by Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, is giving $30 million to Harvard and MIT to launch a new learning program. “Reach Every Reader” is a 5-year web tool that finds a child’s reading issues before they even begin to learn, helping them to keep pace with peers. Struggling in early reading can lead to major setbacks, so the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative is hoping to target that critical period.
