As artificial intelligence algorithms become more complex and more prevalent, parents and educators must now work on preparing today’s youth for being responsible and savvy digital citizens. Here to talk about the potential effects of faulty AI algorithms infiltrating spaces like YouTube and some best practices for teaching children how to be safe online is Edward Tse, the brain behind the Ed on EdTech channel on YouTube and the Director of Strategy at NUITEQ.

“The trouble with the internet is that the internet rewards extremes. Say you’re driving down the road and witness a car crash, of course you look, everybody looks at a car crash. Well the internet interprets that to mean that people want car crashes, so it tries to give us more of them,” Tse said.
