Peter R. Platten emphasizes outsourcing advantages at GSX 2024.

Corporate security programs are expanding and many organizations are turning to off-duty officers to bolster their security efforts. However, managing an off-duty security program across multiple locations presents a unique set of logistical challenges, particularly around ordering, fulfillment, and payment terms.

How can organizations streamline the rollout of off-duty security programs to avoid common pitfalls?

Peter R. Platten, CRO at Protos Security, was at GSX 2024 and spoke on how companies can successfully address these challenges. He emphasized that outsourcing the management of off-duty security programs can be the most effective solution.

When it comes to the complexity of ordering and fulfillment, if you have one or two locations, it's not necessarily that difficult to order and fulfill. But when you get into a program that's beyond two locations, now you have the complexities of city, county, state, government, municipalities, departments, agencies, and it's difficult to navigate those waters when knowing who to speak to for placement of those officers. So outsourcing that type of program, it's advantageous to corporate security programs.
