As countries start to make the shift towards reducing global emissions, China recently announced that they would no longer build a new coal-fire projects abroad. During his address to the United Nations General Assembly President Xi Jinping said that China will step up support for other developing countries in developing green and low-carbon energy. With this announcement we wanted to find out what this could mean for the future viability of coal as resource and as an investment so we asked University of California Los Angeles Finance professor Brad Cornell.
